Magnetic (1) is the first of the thirteen Galactic Tones. A single dot marks unity — the point at which everything begins from one breath, one intention, one question: what for? The Magnetic Tone opens each 13-day wavespell in which it appears, setting the purpose to which the next twelve pulses will all answer.
Tone energy
Magnetism is a force that does not push — it attracts. Tone 1 does not coerce the world into action; it magnetises around itself the people, situations and resources that align with a clean intention. That is why the first day of every wave is a day of clear naming: what do I want to begin here? what will I dedicate these thirteen days to? Dreamspell teaches that without a conscious first pulse the whole wave scatters into accident — energy goes to things you never chose.
In the Mayan calendar, Hun (1) represents the archetypal beginning, that second just before the Big Bang, when everything is still potential. That is why days under the Magnetic Tone are traditionally days of prayer for clarity, of declaring intent, of signing contracts with oneself. They are not days of action — they are days of decision, which only later gives birth to action.

Born under the Magnetic Tone, you are a natural initiator. In every room you enter, you imperceptibly set the topic — people begin to talk about what matters to you before you point at it. Your strength is purity of purpose: when you know what you want, the world organises itself around you with improbable speed. Your challenge is decision — because every yes demands a simultaneous no to a hundred other roads. Practice: before starting a new project, write down in one sentence why you are starting it. If you cannot, it is not yet time.
Practice of the tone
On Magnetic days (when the current kin carries Tone 1) reserve the first hour after waking for setting the intention of the next 13 days. Ask yourself three questions: what do I want to attract here?, what am I saying no to?, how will I know the wave succeeded? Do not try to act yet — action belongs to tones 3 through 10. The first tone is a pen, not a sword.
In the Dreamspell tradition the Magnetic Tone also governs prayer and conscious breath. One conscious breath in the morning, one conscious sentence in the evening — that is enough to launch the wave in line with its nature. On Tone 1 days it is wise to avoid debate, compromise, and opening too many channels. Magnetism works only when there is a single pole.
