Hexagram 35: Progress (晉) & Tzolkin

Hexagram 35 Progress (晉 Jìn) in I Ching and Tzolkin: Fire over Earth, rising light. It maps to kins 137–140 — the closing Sun seal and ascending tones.

晉 jìn · Progress

Progress (晉, Jìn) is the hexagram of the rising sun — Fire above Earth, light emerging over the horizon. Its judgment tells of a prince honored by his ruler and received in audience three times in a single day: swift advancement that comes through clarity and virtue, not haste or intrigue.

In the Argüelles Codon system, hexagram 35 corresponds to kins 137–140 of the Tzolkin — tones 7 through 10 (Resonant, Galactic, Solar, Planetary) of the same wavespell, carrying the seals of Earth, Mirror, Storm, and finally Sun (Universal Fire). This is the last quartet of the twenty Tzolkin seals, closing on the Sun — echoing the hexagram’s own image of a sun rising over the earth. The climbing tone numbers can be read as that same gathering brightness.

Set side by side, both traditions place a rising light at this point of their map of time — one through a prince, the other through the Sun seal closing the run of signs. This is a bridge, not proof: they agree only that this is a moment of visibility, not concealment.

The Judgment
