Hexagram 37: The Family (家人) & Tzolkin
Hexagram 37 The Family (家人 jiā rén) in I Ching and Tzolkin: Wind out of Fire, household order. It maps to kins 145–148, the opening of the Yellow Seed wavespell.
家人 jiā rén · The Family
The Family (家人, Jiā Rén) is the hexagram of the smallest social order: Wind coming forth from Fire, warmth radiating outward through structure. The judgment names the perseverance of the woman as the foundation — right roles and boundaries within the household sustain the wider social order. The superior person has substance in their words and duration in their way of life.
In the Argüelles Codon system, hexagram 37 corresponds to kins 145–148 of the Tzolkin calendar — the opening of the Yellow Seed wavespell. Kin 145 (Red Serpent, Life Force) carries survival instinct and the continuity of the bloodline; kin 146 (White Worldbridger, Death) teaches the passage between generations; kin 147 (Blue Hand, Accomplishment) is the daily duty that holds a household together; kin 148 (Yellow Star, Elegance) closes the quartet with the beauty of an ordered life.
Set side by side, both traditions locate the same theme at this point in the cycle: the small household as the place where life force learns form. This is a bridge, not proof — both maps of time developed independently, yet here they speak a kindred language.
The Judgment
